Review
Pixar dominate the field of computer-animated movies, and with good reason: their formula of warm-hearted, smart and beautifully animated family stories have a universal appeal and have changed the face of animated cinema. Neither Ice Age nor its sequel are Pixar movies, and by comparision they can seem flat and uninspired, particularly in their artwork and storylines. Having said that, both movies are full of excellent sight gags (there's more of the ongoing adventures of Scrat here) and are nicely characterized by the performers. As with all sequels, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown is a slightly weaker version of the orginal, but kids will love it, and parents may find it diverting.
