Review
Any CGI-animated comedy is always going to be measured against the high-benchmark set by Pixar, and - as ever - this doesn't quite scale the heights of Pixar's output. Having said that, there's a great voice cast, the script is amusing enough in places, and when compared to Dreamworks' last animated offering, the utterly dire Madagascar, this has enough to keep most parents and their kids entertained. It may not linger in the memory as Toy Story or Finding Nemo do - it's too formulaic for that - but there are worse movies out there. And it carries a sound environmental message - it'll be interesting to see whether the big burger chains give away Over The Hedge toys with their meals.
