Synopsis
Daring archeologist Dr. Indiana Jones must team up with his father in order to track down the Holy Grail - and its promise of eternal youth - before the Nazis.

Review
After a duff Holy Grail movie (The Da Vinci Code), and a duff third-film-in-a-trilogy (X-Men: The Last Stand), it seemed fitting to acclaim a movie that was both a great Grail movie and a third-film-in-a-trilogy that improved on it's predecessor, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The formula of the daring Dr. Jones beating the Nazis to a holy relic was essentially a retread of the first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, but the inspired new twist was the addition of a sparky, witty father-son relationship, featuring the inspired casting of Sean Connery as Harrison Ford's dad, the irrascible Professor Henry Jones. He may have only been twelve years older than Ford at the time, but the addition of Connery breathed new life into the franchise, and the exchanges between Jones Senior and Junior are the highlights of the movie. It comes as no surprise to learn that these scenes were worked on by Tom Stoppard, injecting wit and intelligence just where it was needed. All the usual Spielberg thrills and spills are there too, and Ford has never been better. Here's hoping that the much-anticipated Indiana Jones 4 features both Ford and Connery, and that the script is as sharp next time round.
